C3 MOUTON VEST

1930年代後半、米陸軍航空隊に採用されたC-3ムートンベストをデザインソースに、当時の防寒装備が持つ機能美と存在感を現代の視点で再構築した。

C-3は、高度飛行時にA-2やB-6などのフライトジャケットの下へ着用する防寒ベストとして開発された、限られた期間のみ生産された希少なフライトクロージングである。本作では、その無駄のない構造を継承しながら、現代のスタイリングに馴染むシルエットへと再構成した。

肉厚なシープムートンを贅沢に使用し、表革には自然なシボや豊かな表情を残すことで、一着ごとに異なる個性を表現。毛足の揃ったムートンは優れた保温性を備え、着込むほどに革は柔らかく艶を増し、長年愛用されたヴィンテージのような風格を育んでいく。

軍用衣料として生まれた実用品の機能美と、時代を超えて受け継がれる普遍的なデザイン。その両方を追い求め、H BEAUTY&YOUTHのために製作したスペシャルモデル。

Drawing inspiration from the C-3 mouton vest adopted by the U.S. Army Air Corps in the late 1930s, this piece reinterprets the functional beauty and presence of that era’s cold-weather gear from a contemporary perspective.

The C-3 was a rare piece of flight clothing produced for only a limited time, developed as a cold-weather vest to be worn under flight jackets such as the A-2 and B-6 during high-altitude flights. This piece inherits its streamlined construction while reimagining it into a silhouette that blends seamlessly with contemporary styling.

Generously crafted from thick sheep mouton, the outer leather retains its natural grain and rich texture, giving each piece its own unique character. The mouton, with its uniform pile, offers excellent thermal insulation, and as the leather is worn, it softens and gains a deeper luster, developing the distinguished character of a well-loved vintage piece.
