This piece is inspired by the N-1 deck jacket adopted by the U.S. Navy during World War II. Designed for deckhands exposed to cold sea winds, the N-1 combined a windproof outer fabric with a highly insulating lining. Its high level of craftsmanship, born out of functional necessity, has ensured its enduring popularity even after the war.
At BOW WOW, rather than simply replicating that military jacket, we’ve removed the lining to create a style suitable for everyday wear, capturing the authentic look of wear, fading, and sun-faded patina. By layering the military silhouette with the thick-ribbed texture—highly prized in the vintage world—we’ve achieved an authentic look.
