This piece is inspired by the trousers from the M-1943 Field Uniform, which was adopted by the U.S. Army in 1943. Developed during World War II as part of an effort to streamline the existing array of combat uniforms and create a layered system capable of adapting to various climates, the M-43 had a significant influence on subsequent U.S. military field wear.
Among the military surplus garments that were adopted by young people, outdoor enthusiasts, and those seeking workwear styles after the war, these trousers—which had previously received little attention—are now beginning to garner interest. At BOW WOW, we’ve incorporated faded olive tones, the relaxed drape of well-worn fabric, and repairs to transform them from mere historical military pants into a pair that has matured through daily wear.
