Born in 1985 in Hollister, California, U.S.A., Levi Pata is an artist of Native American ancestry. Levi Pata is an artist of Native American ancest ry, born in Hollister, California in 1985.
He came to Japan in 2009 and lived in Tokyo until the summer of 2011, when he returned to San Francisco after experiencing the Great East Japan Earthquake in March 2011.
After returning to Japan, he became even more interested in the culture and language of the Nomuraka people, his roots, and at the same time reaffirmed the similarities between his culture and Japanese culture, which views things based on nature. In this way, he has continued to present improvisational works in the form of paintings and drawings with a renewed and strong feeling for Japan.
In addition to his own solo exhibitions, his activities include collaborations with apparel brands and the recently released book "The Tree of Beginning - A Story of Contemporary California Ind ians, " which he wrote with his artwork, has become a topic of conversation from various quarters.
