This piece is inspired by old American football practice uniforms and game jerseys. The generous body width—designed to be worn over protective gear—and the large numbers used to identify teams and players originated from functional needs for the sport but later came to be appreciated as graphics unique to vintage sportswear.
A key feature is the deep eggplant-navy fade, so advanced that the original color is barely discernible. We envision the garment as if the owner’s lifestyle and uses have already been etched into it, and we assemble it as a brand-new product that incorporates even these “traces of time.”
